Newsletter Round 10

Hi Everybody,

Some weeks it’s not about what happens on the football oval or netball courts but about what  off them.

Shanya and Luke Beattie initiated a small video that was posted on the KFNC Face Book  and Instagram pages, and it went viral.

The video was a small presentation by Luke, the Senior Coach and Senior Players, Josh Govan (Captain), Harrison Huntly, Jake Safstrom and Billy Mahoney. It was a response to the outcry following the rape and murder of Eurydice Dixon in Melbourne.

In the Video the guys voiced their own personal opposition to violence against women and reinforced the KFNC’s position, to treat girls and women with the same respect everybody deserves.

The Video was picked up by WINTV, ABC Statewide Drive and the Midland Express.

I am incredibly proud of the men involved in the Club who have taken this stand and commend them for their efforts.

The KFNC has recently been involved in the Rural Challenge for Gender Equality and we take very seriously the safety and well-being of all members and participants at the Club.

Now to Senior Football and Netball games this weekend. All games are at the Queen Elizabeth Oval in Bendigo against South Bendigo.

A guest appearance this weekend  with Thommo pulling on the boots in the Reserves!!

The Senior Women are playing at North Bendigo on Sunday and all Junior home matches will be on the Bottom oval due to whether damage on the Showgrounds oval.

Coming up KFNC will have the Pink round on July 21-22 supporting the Breast Cancer Network, while Comedy for a Cause will be held at Kyneton Toyota on August 11.

All enquiries and ticket sales go to our new website www.kynetonfnc.com

Thanks to Sarah Correa for her work getting the new site up and running.

Next home game is June 30 at the Showgrounds against Kangaroo Flat, its also the Rodney Gunn memorial reunion.

150th Anniversary plaques can be purchased in the clubrooms or online.
